Ultrasound Transmission Gel
The use of Cogel Ultrasound is recommended in all medical applications, both diagnostic and therapeutic, in
which the use of ultrasound waves requires a coupling interface between ultrasound transducer and the skin.
The special chemical and physical characteristics of the product ensure a very high degree of efficiency for the
entire duration of exams or treatments, even if they last a long time.
Relevant Specifications, Quality and Safety Aspects
Cogel Ultrasound guarantees higher transmission quality of sound waves of the whole range of frequencies
normally used in ultrasound medical diagnosis and treatment. Cogel Ultrasound is a water-based gel, hypoallergenic, water-soluble and salt free that does not damage a device’s ultrasound transducer. It does not stain
or leave grease. The special and highly resistant reticulated structure that characterizes Cogel Ultrasound
limits the liquefaction effect caused by substances with a high salt content, such as sweat or body oil. As a result, you can use the gel sparingly, because there is no need to keep adding more of the product during exams
or treatment. Cogel Ultrasound is completely free of scents or essences, which are notorious causes of type
one allergic reactions.
It does not contain formaldehyde and its pH value is neutral. All raw materials used to make Cogel Ultrasound are found in the FU category (Official Pharmacopoeia). The containers used in the gel packaging are
made of food grade material and completely latex free.
Comedical carries out constant quality control checks on each batch and especially on the entire production
cycle, as well as the primary and secondary packaging for the Cogel Ultrasound line. Cogel Ultrasound is a
class I EC marked product and complies with European Directive 93/42EEC which regulates the manufacture, marketing and use of Medical Devices.
